On Monday May 5th, 2025 fashion enthusiasts like myself came together to celebrate a night filled with artistic, creative and pure self-expression. Vogue Club members from all over the world travelled into the electrifying city of New York for one of the most prominent nights in Fashion, the Met Gala. If you are obsessed with fashion like I am then you probably already know just how big the first Monday in May really is. Fashionista's, artists, Actors, Directors and industry personnel of every type gather at the Metropolitan Museum of Art draped in extravagant avant garde and couture garments in support of the Costume Institute. Every year there is a particular wardrobe theme set in place to mirror that current year's exhibition. This year, Costume Institute's 2025 exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style was the inspiration behind the very dandy attire that was showcased throughout the red carpet.
Vogue Club members gathered at breath-taking Lowell Hotel, New York as the annual Met Gala Vogue livestream began. Members were also on theme for the live stream viewing event and arrived at the sophisticated Lowell Hotel dressed in their very own interpretation of Dandy. Minutes before the livestream began, anticipation mounted as fashionista's all over the venue dialogues about previous Met Gala looks, designers and artists. The room was immersed with pure creative energy, and it was to see a diverse group of people come together freely to express their version of Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, while embracing one another.
Since I've joined the Vogue Club community I have connected and conversed with other Fashion creatives while also gaining much knowledge and foresight about the industry itself. Fashion to those who love it, is a part of who they are as an individual and it is always great to be part of a community as such. I met so many outstanding fashionistas, designers, fashion editors, real life dandys, and other creatives that night. The first Monday in May brought together a multitude of individualists for a few important causes: supporting the continuous work curated by the Costume Institute while highlighting decades of Tailored Black Style.
What inspired the custom Canvas Bag that I wore for the Vogue event?
