Hope For Haiti
Jean Jacob Paul began his mission for Hispaniola in 2007. A native-born Haitian who was educated in the U.S. had a calling to return to his country of birth to help as many people as he could. His organization is planted within numerous communities all over Haiti, including cities near Port-au-Prince, Jacmel and Cap-Haitien. Now that he has passed his children Nathalie, Ruth, Benz and Scarlie Paul along with the Reformation Hope Foundation are committed to continuing his work in Haiti.

Scarlie Paul’s father, Jean Jacob Paul, dedicated the majority of his life to helping the people of Haiti flourish and overcome tremendous obstacles. At a young age, he moved to the United States to pursue higher education. After completing college and obtaining his U.S. citizenship, he made the intentional decision to return to Haiti to help improve the lives of those yearning for growth, knowledge, and opportunity.

His unwavering passion for the Haitian community has always been a profound inspiration to Scarlie and continues to influence her to this day. That legacy of service is deeply rooted in the foundation of Designed by Scarlie Paul. The company firmly believes in the importance of giving back and creating meaningful opportunities for others.

As a fashion designer, one of Scarlie Paul’s primary goals is to provide opportunities for creatively talented individuals throughout Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic). While the majority of her designs are custom-made by Scarlie Paul and her production team in the United States; her goal is to have select products (accessories) thoughtfully crafted in Haiti — including school uniforms for children within the Haitian community.

Designed by Scarlie Paul also strives to offer sewing and skill-building classes to individuals in Haiti. These programs are intended to create jobs, develop valuable skills, and expand opportunities within the country, while also celebrating and sharing the rich beauty of Haitian culture through design.

The company’s overall mission is to inspire people around the world to love their authentic selves and embrace what makes them unique — regardless of class, age, circumstance, or gender. The “Giving Back to Haiti Project” is one of the meaningful ways Designed by Scarlie Paul seeks to uplift, empower, and inspire others.
